Needle & Thread: A Hands-on Embroidery Workshop

Join us on Sunday, August 24, 2025 for a hands-on embroidery workshop with local artist Alice Jette and learn the art of stitching! Part of our Victorian Parlor Series, this program will provide participants with instruction on different techniques, tools and special stitches from an experienced embroidery instructor for a guided workshop experience.

This workshop is perfect for all skill levels, from a complete beginner of the craft to someone looking to refine the embroidery skills they already have, this workshop is for you. Participants will enjoy learning the tips and tricks to help enhance skills while engaging with fellow crafting enthusiasts in the Community Room of the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center. Light refreshments will be provided.

The program will be held from 12:00-4:00 PM, with instruction at the beginning of the session and ample time to dive into your own project for the remainder of the time. All supplies are provided in the ticket price. Participants will be given their fabric, embroidery floss, needles, and hoops in their kit to get them started.

Special collection objects sewn by Polly Alice Körner will be on display for participants to view and gain inspiration from during the program.
