Plan Your Visit to Körner's Folly
Visiting Körner’s Folly in Downtown Kernersville
Constructed in 1880, Körner’s Folly was the home of Jule Körner, an artist and designer who created the structure to showcase his work. Featuring 22 rooms, 7 levels, 15 fireplaces, and the first private little theater in the United States, this architectural treasure offers visitors a whimsical trip to the heyday of Victorian North Carolina. Located in historic downtown Kernersville, Körner’s Folly is open for self-guided tours. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
Visitors can explore at their own pace 22 rooms in the three-story house museum, along with an impressive collection of original furnishings and artwork. Charming and unique cast-plaster details, carved woodwork, and elaborate hand-laid tile are being lovingly restored for the education and enjoyment of the public. Visit our event calendar for exciting programs for children and families, adults, and community.
The John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center is our new home for the Körner’s Folly Foundation offices, orientation theater, and gift shop. Visitors can enjoy rotating lobby exhibits focusing on fascinating aspects of the home and Körner family. Be sure to ask our staff for their recommendations on dining, shopping, local attractions, and more!
Please note that due to the historic nature of the home, Körner’s Folly is not handicap-accessible. Virtual tour options and more information are available inside the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center, located at 401 S. Main Street, Kernersville.
