Event Details
Join us this summer for our annual Family Fun Day event, when we’ll explore classic games and toys from the Victorian era on the grounds of historic Körner’s Folly!
Bring your family and friends to experience the joy of traditional pastimes that have captivated generations. Play historic yard games, create cool artwork, try out Victorian-era toys, and complete a themed scavenger hunt through all 22-rooms of Körner’s Folly to win a prize. Staff and volunteers will be onsite to help demonstrate game rules, so gather your friends and family for a jam-packed day of fun for all ages!
Plus, meet Dunlap the Elephant at the Kernersville Museum‘s Hands-on History popup, check out a classic car on loan from the Kernersville Auto Museum, enjoy Storytime with local children’s author Suzanne Pollock, and get creative with hands-on art activities in the Community Room of the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center. Activities can be done in any order!
Games and toys available for exploration include croquet, badminton, grace hoops, Tic Tac Toe Toss, chess, checkers, pick up sticks, Snakes & Ladders, jacks, and puzzles, and more! Hands-on activities include sand archaeology, sidewalk chalk paintings, thaumatropes, creating your own Victorian-inspired board game, coloring pages, crossword puzzles, word games, and Körner family stick puppets!
Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for Storytime (11:00 am), and to enjoy snacks or lunch picnic-style on the grounds or inside the Community Room. Cool down with sweet treats available for purchase from Pinky’s Ice Cream starting at 11:00 am.
