On Saturday, September 6, from 10 am – 11:30 am, the Körner’s Folly Foundation will present our monthly Taste of History program, featuring a lively discussion by historian and author, Dr. Andrew English as he dives into the historical legacy of North Carolina’s navy. During this presentation, Dr. English will cover the “forgotten” story of the warship North Carolina and the significance of the ship’s service during the Civil War.
Dr. Andrew English is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, with a service history in Oceana, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East including Iraq where he earned the Bronze Star. During his research, he authored The Laird’s Ram, which discusses the battleship North Carolina and the significance of the ship during the Civil War. Join us as we hear about the riveting history of North Carolina’s navy for this free program to celebrate patriotic holidays in the month of September!
The Taste of History program is held in the Community Room of the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center. Program Admission is free and includes light refreshments. No pre-registration is required.
