Piedmont Wind Symphony in Residence
Join us Tuesday, August 18, 2026, for a festive evening as members of the Piedmont Wind Symphony, in collaboration with Körner’s Folly, present a program celebrating the rich heritage and enduring traditions of German wind music.
This special performance, presented in collaboration with Körner’s Folly at Cupid Park Theatre, explores the deep roots of German wind music, tracing its evolution from village dances and outdoor festivities to the formal concert hall. For centuries, bands have played a central role in German cultural life, providing music for civic events, military ceremonies, and seasonal celebrations.
Through a blend of traditional dances, celebratory marches, and concert works inspired by German musical heritage, this performance reveals how music served not only as entertainment, but as a powerful social force, bringing communities together in times of celebration, remembrance, and national pride.
Your ticket is valid for one performance time. We hope you’ll join us before or after the performance for conversation and light refreshments in the Community Room of the John & Bobbie Wolfe Visitors Center.
To ensure the best listening experience for both our performers and audience, this concert is recommended for guests ages 13 and up. Please note that tickets are nonrefundable but may be redeemed for self-guided tour passes equal to the ticket purchase value within a year of the purchase date.
