Victorian Parlor Series: Coffee Culture with Savage Roasters
Saturday, September 17
9 – 11 am
Join Joshua Pratt, Owner of Savage Roasters Coffee and Körner’s Folly staff for an exciting exploration of Victorian-era coffee culture. Program will begin in Cupid’s Park Theatre with a presentation on the fascinating history of this “miracle beverage,” its origins, complex journey, destinations, and impact on society from the Victorian age to today, with special collections objects will be on view that the Körner family used daily.
Participants are then invited to head downstairs to the elegant Reception Room for some coffee sampling! Joshua has carefully selected several varieties for pour-over tastings, and will share their history, origins, flavors, and processing, leading participants through the evolution of the coffee bean with a tasting in chronological order. Participants are also welcome to take a self-guided tour of the 22-room historic house museum following the program.
This program will be limited to 30 participants. Tickets are non-refundable, but may be redeemed for any self-guided tour, Tuesdays – Saturdays, within a year of the purchase date.
